The use of sampling is widely adopted in inspection services because it offers the minimum opportunity of evidence, which is both sufficient and appropriate for the inspector to form valid conclusions on the commidity. Inspection sampling is also widely known to reduce the risk of ‘over-auditing’ in certain areas, and enables a much more efficient review in the inspection process.

The use of Random Sample Method ensures that all items within a population stand an equal chance of selection and representative of the commodity.
